The entire Psalter is nothing but a series of syllogisms stemming from the First Commandment: the minor premise is called ‘faith,’ the major is called ‘the Word of God,’ the conclusion is ‘deed’ or ‘performance.’ Or: major premise: God cares for those who are miserable; minor premise: I am miserable; conclusion: therefore God cares also for me. Humans doubt the minor premise.
